I was doing a spot of yard work today. Clearing bush tobacco plants, bamboo vines, lantana, all sorts of weeds and vines. The Scrap Yard 1311 is a perfect light bush knife and makes very short work of clearing scrub.

HOWEVER, a big lesson learned for me today - never swap hands when you're tired! I am right handed. My right hand cramped up a little and I was feeling a bit puffed. I swapped the knife into my left hand and continued hacking and slashing. The blade glanced off something and hit my right forearm as you can see. Lucky for me it wasn't too deep, more of a fillet. Fillet of Rob. I am normally always so careful with these things and I keep them razor sharp. That'll learn me! Play with the big dog, get bit by the big dog. Respect the big dog :D

Anyway, on to the gore...

Is the 1311 ok?

Kidding, That look's like it could have been alot worse. Your lucky it was only a nick. Hope you heal quickly brother.

Nice one! That makes my recent wound look little more than a nibble.

I know!!! I felt that hot sting as the knife hit my arm and thought "Oh crap".

The knife is out in the doghouse tonight :D

Mate, you stopped to take a pic, that qualifies it as a minor flesh wound. I guess you'll need to take it easy on your right hand for a few days.

PS. Did you practice your left hand stitching skills for when sh*t gets real?

In local news:
An unidentified dog robbed the Kroger Meat department armed with a large fixed blade this evening..

:D

Ouch.

Hope it heals up nice and quick for ya mate!

Gotta be extra careful when swinging around large chucks of steel - big accidents can happen in very small amounts of time!

I know mate, it's not too bad. Just bled like a stuck pig for a bit. Thought it would make for some good pics :D Love me some gore pics haha!

I just cauterized the open wound with the hot coal end of a burning stick. All good. Beer. V8s. Footy. Knives.

Damn Rob, sorry to hear about the oopsie... Could I possibly suggest more time with that sweet Moab you have, you appear to get too wiley with the light and thin. To think, if that cut was done with the Moab you might not have an arm.
I totally agree with the gladiator armor

Yeah that's a good one,,, you're lucky, a few arteries in that neighborhood.
Glad you're okay Rob!
The good news is, it sounds like you didn't injure your drinking arm. 🍻🍻

I think as we "USE" our Bussekins it's just a matter time.
As the Busses add their patina....so do we.
It's a Busse Badge of honor.

Keep the wound clean and best wishes on quick healing.
This may foster a whole new pic thread :D

Bummer Buddy....good thing it was just a glancing wound...OUCH....Now that the DOG has tasted blood keep it on a short leash....

Heal up quickly Brother!!!

Glad you are OK brother.

Need to make you arm sheaths :)

Get better fast,
and post that over on the " Stealth Hog " facebook page ;)
