Figuratively and literally.

i got my first gec in today #15 radio knifebrite and i love it

but then she bit me!

i closed the opener one handed on my finger

its got strong snap

What??????? I've had worse cuts than that to my eyeball.

Nice looking knife though.

Ya better get on down to the Emergency Room.:)

I debated on that one too then decided on the Farm and Field tool. But may still have to buy this one as well. Congrats.

Strong springs + half stops can lead to some surprises like that until you are used to the knife. I usually end up getting some sort of small nick or near cut with most new knives, typically when sharpening or cleaning them up for the first time. Carry it for a while and the two of you will get used to each other.

Not feeling too poorly then Ed...;)

I did say in another thread that I'd had a hellacious cold for the last few days but I didn't say I was completely listless.;)

"noodlefish" has a great knife (very nice in fact) and has been around long enough to take my ribbing with a grain of salt.

Congrats, and sorry to see the bite. I got my first GEC today, also, and my thumbnails tell me I will need to eat some more Jello. :D

That's a real interesting #15. Stay safe, but luckily you've got 10 digits . At first I though that was a quirky, and more novel sort of knife, but I'd probably find it incredibly useful the more I think about it. I use the tip of my bottle opener on my SAK very often. It's something I'm going to keep my eye on. Thanks for sharing.

What a bear trap! That bottle opener is useful to us beer drinkers and with knifebrite you can open beers in the dark! One of the trads forum knives a year or two ago had a bottle opener on it also.

Super cool knife. I really like the size of the 15s.

hey!..... don't worry about it i wanted to reply with a nasty set of pics of bad cuts from knives but were worried you might feel faint... :p

i posted a picture of the pinch so yous guys would get a laugh at my expense. :D no hard feelings

"fish" or can I call you by your first name - "noodle"? Do you find the pull on your caplifter blade particularly stiff - more than you normally like? I checked my Radio Knife and I'd rate it at about a 6 but that's kind of how I like a blade to be. I see where you said yours had a strong snap.

Nuka Cola caps? You must play Fallout then. :)

Anyway, how strong are the springs? I remember the pull on my #15 being a light 5 on my scale....

im not to experinced with gec (my first) and only have a few victorinox slip joints to compare its a really strong pull but the cap lifter is even harder to pull.

its definitely a strong pull if a victorinox is a 5 its a 7 but your scale might be different

The knife is fantastic I own one myself, I'm more impressed however with your Nuka Cola bottle caps. +1 for the Fallout Reference...

im a super huge fallout fan and went to comic con two years in a row in a 101 jump suit handing out bottle caps from beers ive kept. everyone thought it was awesome until another guy in a jump suit gave me those two and then i felt like a loser. so im gonna make a bunch of those for this years.

Ha, ha:)

A grain of salt should be just enough for the resulting injury;)
