Have just received my MADD MAXX from Darrel Ralph, see post on this forum, and the big knife bug has bitten. Just went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered a Rekat Sifu. Anyone out there have one of the Bladeforum specials? I went ahead with the D-2 version since that is what the MADD MAXX has and the MM is SHARP! Just curious about the performance of this knife and the impressions anyone has on this knife. Thanks.

Hey Art, I have the feeling that when my Madd Maxx arrives I may start looking for more big blades myself. Darrel tells me I will be getting it soon, I sure hope so.

Keith,
That is what did it! After carrying the MM for a couple of days with relative ease I decided to try out another big knife. Got to say though, it is going to be DIFFICULT for any knife to beat the feel of the MADD MAXX! Just wait until you get yours and you will see what I am talking about. Something about that big a knife being so light and balanced in your hand.

Big knives are GOOD! Love my V Grande. Pity it is in 8a and the serrations take ages to sharpen

Congratulations!! on getting your Mad Max Art....have been enjoying mine..I have one of those bigger 7" blades coming also..so guess that same big knife bug has bitten me also..already had a TNT from Mayo that was over 9" open..that one seems small next to the Max..and you are right about the balance in your hand...perfect for me...that coffin handle with the swell in it fits right in the palm of your hand in a closed fist grip.(combat style) ..enjoy!!

I'll be very interested in seeing a comparison done between Max and the Sifu.

I personally like curved grips, and LOVE the Sifu's feel...I want to handle a Max, but...just can't afford one right now.

Kawanin,
I have a couple of Crawfords with a 4" blade and a model 4 Carson with a 4" blade. All are 9 inches plus when open and look huge.....until I placed the MADD MAXX next to them. Almost makes them look like little gents knives! BTW this is not, and I repeat, NOT a knock on these two makers or their knives. Pat Crawford and Kit Carson are two of the BEST!

Jim,
I hope to get my son to show me how to operate his digital camera so I can post some pics of them all. Also hope to do some comparison testing of the two. Will just have to see.

Anyone out there who can post some pics, well, just post away!

Now, all you need is a Bagwell Hells Belle. If you can't afford the custom version, then consider the Ontario production version. They are some kinda knife! As an old Bowie lover, I couldn't resist them.
