- bitten by the American-style slippie bug.

Twelve months ago, don't think I had one. Given our knife laws in UK, this is a fortunate line of folders to collect and use.

The last three I managed to acquire...

Nice group! I recognize the maker for the bottom 2, but who is the maker of the top one? I like that one and the jigging/color of that bone.

I was going to say the same thing. That mason is hot, and who makes the top one.

Nice start! When you say American style are you referencing the blade length or just the makers location?

It can't be the makers location. Paul Mason is from the UK, not sure of the top one. This is a maker I am not familiar with, I hope that is remedied as I like what I see.

Beautiful knives Chui-888. I too would like to know more about the top one in the image.

Thanks for the comments, guys :)

American style: ah, is this not a single-blade Trapper style that originated in USA.....?

Yes, the top one is from Tozaki from Japan. This is my particular model - http://www.tozakiknives.com/detail.TB_Tribute_Trapper.html

I was brought to Tozaki by a friend of mine who'd met him at Blade..........my friend had had a special made for him, and it was without doubt, the most exquisite and well made slippie I'd ever handled.

Paul Mason, considering he's only been making these less than two years, is simply going places..........reckon you'll hear more about him in years to come.

Ken Erickson - well, what a lovely fella, and what a great maker. Think this is one of his earlier ones, bought s/hand.

Just spent some time one Tozaki's site and he has an amazing style!!! Thanks so much for post and I too hope to see more knives from you, Chui-888!!!!

Great trio there Chui, three most worthy makers, and great knives each of them. I agree with what you said about Mason. Tozaki bone jigging is stunning.

i love that red bone.
Tozaki cool, the bone looks like it's a hundred years old
