Did anyone else manage to catch Zimmerman's Bizzar Foods Austrailia last night on the Travel Channel?

During one segment he was eating wallaby and long necked turtle with the Aboriginals.

Lots of knife use by the Aboriginals. Most of the time it looked like they were using kitchen knives! Just drives home the point that survival is about 90 percent skills and 10 percent gear.

Zimmerman had some type of folding knife that his guide kept reffering to as a sheila's knife.

Someone had a big double edged knife they were using to eat off of. Couldn't ID it for sure.

Have a good one folks!

I love bizare foods and bizare world... the survival episode was good too. Good point regarding skills/gear.

Just an aside, at a holiday party last Friday, a friend of the family pulled out his Case lockback, no idea what model it was, I think now that it was a Case Blackhorn. I've had a couple of them. His only knife, except for in the kitchen. He uses it when camping, used it to butcher a couple deer. Nothing else. Use what you know.

Told me to keep all of my bowie pig stickers in my pockets ;).

Man i would go on a survivl trip with him anytime. I know i would be well feed no matter what happens we would have a great laugh. Have you noticed that most of the survivl shows no one ever seem to have a good time. Here you got an old fat guy that is laughing and having a great time even if things dont go his way. Attitude is up there with knowledge and gear. Sorry i missed last night show. I never miss them. TV at its best lol. He seem to enjoy the company of other people and cultures and it shows
