My first pic post so if this does not come out, please help troubleshoot. Thanks in advance.

I have completed the scales for my BK-09 made from a red cutting board. Next go 'round I should have a Dremmel that I can really smooth them out. For right now though, the roughness adds to the grip that seems to plague some people with the grivory (I never have an issue with the grivory, just wanted red scales).

Bladite, my bad . . MY good friend Moose is allowing me the priviledge of joining the elite Beckerhead group & I am trying to keep track of the posts as a reminder . . .
Might be a good idea if I just leave off the BK, huh . . .
Thanks for the post, just so excited about joining such an elite group of upstanding knife addicts . . . :D

Even more funny, I don't think the Moose has even noticed it yet, too distracted when the word "BECKER" is mentioned, something like tunnel vision I guess . . . :)
Good guy thou, nice to have him on here.

I didn't see a #5 on that post. Oh, and just to clarify, you only need 25 posts in the BECKER forum, and 75 Bladeforums wide, which you already have, so just a scant 20 more posts and some threads to start, then we'll BRAND you with a Beckerhead #.

Oh, OP, great looking knife, I like the cutting board idea, do you know what the material is? I see some that are made from kevlar to g10. If you don't know, that's cool.

p.s.: Bladite, my apologies, I did not even notice your BK number was 4 . . .
understand your post quite clearly now . .

The material is very TOP SECRET!! I was trusted by the engineers at NASA not to share with anyone.

Actually, it's a $3.00 board from Target (or was it Wal-mart?) Nothing special. I am sure just pressed plastic. This material may chip or break with hard use. I have not used it with the new scales yet but let you guys know how it holds up. I will share that I did not use a saw to cut it. I used a file and shaped it completely by hand. Took around 12 hours of love :)

Very knife, very knife indeed. You melt the nut in the plastic, or what? I know you were having a time with that.

These holes were drilled before that idea came about. They are all circular holes that fit very tightly around the nut. I will make new ones soon, and will try to melt the nut into the plastic. This go around is a "rough draft" you could say. Once I get a dremmel, I will remake the scales.

Also, How do you know how many posts one has posted in the Becker forum vs all posts forum wide?

I love those handles! Great DIY job. I wonder if those handles will help with shock transfer at all or if they don't really do much in that way.

Will let you know as soon as possible. Can't wait to get out and use it again!
