BK-1 Brute question

Can someone tell me why the BK-1 is "permanently discontinued" ?

Prices seem rather steep for a Camillus BK-1. Why must we n00bs go without a Ka Bar made BK-1?

The size, weight, thickness and edge geometry, made this guy kinda obselete in the BKT lineup. There are other blades that far surpass its abilities, and the cost of new manufacturing (think grinds), would make it very expensive to have. That's my opinion. Toooj and Ethan will know much more.

Collectors and demand are driving the prices up on the discontinued models. There is hope though, you can always buy a BK9, its a better chopper and a better knife, IMO.

If not, there are some deals, but you're gonna pay for it. :grumpy::eek::D

There are some things in the works, but we will see what the future holds
