Mornin' peoples,

Three years ago I bought my Bk-11, at first I didn't know what to make of it. Three years later, it's the only survivor of over thirty knives, and the only knife I keep anymore. It's seen and done just about it all. Broken wires, opened bottles, stone-knapped, gutted/skinned, dug holes, chiseled, lifted up my grill's rack, flipped meat, turned eggs, scrambled eggs, cut everything from heavy ropes to cords, and of course split wood and started many fires in my woodstove and grill! It's been a good and faithful companion. I have pics, but I've no idea how to post them (I'm sure I'd goof it up--blah, give me a heavybag or a axe, I stink at creative things lol). I even re-taught myself to hone edges with that knife, even to convex by hand using some of the Beckerhead tutorials. I keep it's edge polished and oiled; it typically rides in a homespun sheath since I lost it's original. It's a good knife, and for the price people can pay now..alot of knife for it's little price and size.

It's been the ONE knife I've never regretted buying. That little black piece of steel has been there for me, when nothing else was or would hold up. It's seen so much use in the woods, my work, training, and home that I'd be sorely pressed to part with it. Maybe I'll even buy it a sheath and some scales someday, when I have a little money to toss. :-) For a fifty dollar knife (was when I bought it back then), it's performed as would a much more expensive knife. Good all around! :-)

Have a good mornin' folks,

:p

This is why I love this forum. There is a sincere feeling of friendship, family, and a passion for the hobby and tools we love. Thanks OP, and like Mr. Becker said, what a great post to read first thing in the morning!

I have been smiling from ear-to-ear since I read the replies. I'm glad I could brighten your day, Mr.Becker!

I have found the Bk-11 to be the most versatile, tough, and useful knife I've ever had. I used it daily through the
summer, splitting hickory for the grill, and it performed perfectly. During our honeymoon, my wife and I had grilled
steaks (and had forgotten both grill fork and steak knives..lol) and used the Bk-11 to turn the meat and later to slice
it--it saved our evening for certain! I've used it as spear (taking down wasp nests), hook (grapple in my case, lol,
apple-grabber), gaff (lifting up and pulling down vines), wood splitter, wire breaker, drill, cap popper, and of course
as a knife! :-) It is, for me, an EDC do-it-all "survival" knife, and it does do it all. Seventeen years of woodscraft and
tracking, and I have never found a more useful or compact knife. For a little package, it performs large chores. I even
use it in the kitchen!

All my gear was stolen from my truck earlier this year, but fortunately the Bk-11 was with me..I'd have missed the little
black knife quite a bit. It also has provided me a sense of security on my most recent job undertaking, which led me into
an area with two large black bears. One weighs in at around four to five hundred pounds, while the other is a solid three
hundred. (Thank God neither was a sow with cubs..sheesh!) Seventeen years of woodscraft and tracking lol (smelled the
pee). Thanks to the bears, the job is on hold until they vacate..hopefully far, far away. I'm hoping to get a Bk-16 soon,
though as my funds are quite tight at the moment, it may be a while.

I have found it to be a most versatile, tough, and reliable companion. Your products, in my own humble opinion, are nothing
short of masterfully designed and built. I was smiling from ear to ear when I read the replies to my post, and I thank you
kindly for your kindness and generosity! It's refreshing to see kindness like that in today's troubled world!! Your products make
it possible for people on a budget to have a high-quality tool! You area good man in my book, Mr.Becker, thank you again and
I'm glad I could brighten your day!

Hoping you all have a great day!

:D

Oh, btw, the makeshift sheath I've been using actually led me to design a few custom sheaths, which could prove to be rather
unusual--if not unique. :-) I'd be happy to share my ideas. (Lol..I could try to make one, but I'm sure I'd goof it up.)

More a testament to the quality of the becker knives !!

My BK11 not get out of my backpack is always with me!!

I hope you can post pictures of your knife..

I am taking pics of it, problem is I stink at it! lol.. Hmmm... I'll get some one to do it for me. :D

A great and truthfully spoken post. I carry my bk11 everyday when I drive clients around..it makes me feel a little bit "safer" just knowing that its there, and it has been called on to open a beer or three for my Friday client !

Nice post B2D, I know what you mean. I have a couple of BK-11s. One rides in my camera case always, and the other is a CSM that is one of my favorite knives to neck carry in salt and high humidity environments. That CSM has gone a lot of miles with me in the last year. I have micarta scales, but I've found I prefer the handles cord wrapped.

I just purchased my first bk11 and am waiting patiently. This blade will replace my SOG Trident (I am tired of folders) as an EDC and I am certain that it will be put to the test. Thanks for insuring me that I am making a good decision!

Great post!! I feel the same way about my BK14, although I'm sure it hasn't seen the use your's has.

Pics or it didn't happen.

Hey Bored.....

Give me a call........

Ethan

I apologize for the delay!! I've had a rough week. Daughter came in from college early last week, and I've been nagging her to make sure she has her pepper spray. Had to prepare for her birthday.. Phew.. Hehe, plus I banged the holy beans out of my knee :D. I'm not sure why, but I've been having phone issues all week. People have tried to call me and my phone won't ring, and when I've tried to call..same thing.. I think I've got it sorted out now, so I will be calling you today Mr.Becker :D. I'm also planning a series of pictures showing my Bk-11 in action--battoning, carving, feathers, striking a ferro rod, sharpness tests, and how I attatch it for use a "grapple" hehe.. :D Hehehehe..weather is getting cold which means I get to use my knife more, splitting and shaving wood to build fires in the wood-stove! Tonight I'm going to build a fire in our grill so that my wife can roast marshmallows and make some s'mores...I'll post s'more pics just to torture hehe. :D

Would love to see more pictures, I do like pictures of well used knives, tells a nice story,

:-) I tried to call you, Mr.Becker, but there was no answer. You were probaby pretty busy, so I'll call again later.

Wow, what a fantastic post to read to end my day. The 11 is a tough little bugger, that's for sure.
How confidence inspiring.
