BK-11 EDC options

I got a BK-11 CSM last week,, and it has not left my body since then. I found the back pocket to be the most accessible place after trying a variety of carry options (My BK-11 replaces a large TDI as an EDC fixed blade, which also found its way into my back pocket).

The main issue I encountered when trying to find a good place to stash this knife was the bulkiness of the sheath. In the back pocket, it sits high enough, but it gets crowded with a wallet in there.

I work leather, so the solution was a no brainer:

the leather is darker over the blade because i impregnated it with rem-oil for blade maintenance. Time will tell if this is the solution, but it feels just like a large wallet, flexes with my body, and deploys the knife perfectly.

What are some of the EDC solutions you BK-11 lovers use?
Anyone have a good custom sheath solution neck carry?

Lets see some pics

I made paracord belt loops on the sheath, and put my belt on through the first loop, then through the sheath cord loops....and it disapears. I forget it is there, and I work with my hands bend, digging, and in and out of trucks all day. It is perfect for me. Good luck

Ok....maybe I'm a moron..... You know the part about disapearing....well my knife disapeared today....:barf: I loved that knife...maybe the sheath was not as secure as I thought.

More info is needed! How/where did you carry it? How long have you had it?

I was working at a customer pruning trees and hauling brush. I have been doing all manner of physical labor with it in that horizonal position for the past couple weeks with great comfort. I can't believe I did not notice it depart, was not cut or anything. It concerns me that I could have been injured by it falling out. This is the first real consistant use I had for the knife. I carried in the TDI clip for a week or maybe two...but the clip bent, and was not comfortable to carry in that mode. The only real comfortable carry resulted in the loss of a knife. I might have to give the Izula a try...I can't affor to be injured by a knife falling out of a sheath.

How do you know it fell out rather than catching on something and being pulled out?

i feel your pain, i lost the first knife i ever made myself much in the same way. Small update, the pocket sheath i made for my BK-11 is amazing, I would suggest such an option to all. it fits like a glove and holds tight, nothing but a solid tug straight up will get it out.

wasn't there some fellas using a teklok so a guy could carry on your belt? I don't remember what size though.

I am a superlurker I guess :D I read a lot of forums and post little. also you know how it is interests ebb and flow and it just so happens I am thinking about survival and knives again and would like to carry my bk11 in my belt so I thought this thread was worthy of a post.

Agent Iron, did you lose just the knife or the knife+sheath?

Just the blade, the paracord held strong. I don't want to diminish the quality of the sheath as I think it was a solid lockup, designed well for the blade, I am just disapointed in the loss. For so long I looked for a fixed blade, comfortable mode of carry, and thought I found it.....I am just not sure now.... My line of work is extreamly demanding, and puts any mode of carry to the test.

Ah. Well, you also have to consider the possibility that you may have mistakenly left your blade somewhere or not have properly put it back in the sheath... Or the sheath just didn't retain the knife well enough. Sorry for your loss - what are you considering for a replacement?

No shot of leaving it somewhere....I know for a fact. I ordered another Necker, and an Izula. I really loved the necker, and had wanted one all through the time Ethan was no producing them. I don't want to give up on it yet, but this is it's last chance:) I figure I can't go wrong with the Izula either, so hopefully at least one will stay with me. Thanks for asking.

You cant go wrong with either a Necker or an izula, ever. I just got my izula and i switch back and forth between the two. the Izula came as sharp as I make my Bk 11 so props, the sheath is smaller and holds the knife tighter, you wont lose that one from its clothes.

My way ;)

Stefan, do you find the sheath moves around a lot as you go about your day? The holes in the sheath are so much farther apart than any of my belts, and the sheath tends to rise and bind the belt if i use the knife in a crouching position.

I like the barrel clamp to tension the rig though, that is a great system you have there.

also, how did you get the photo to post? Whenever I try to put a photo in, it just shows up as a url between the html code, any advice?

under da sheath is one of the hools for the belt /sorry I don't know how to say that in english/ and the movement is a minimal...
