BK-11 EDC Preference

I just purchased a new 11, and I would like to carry it daily. I wear jeans, almost, daily; however, belt carry is not appropriate for my office environment (although it's not prohibited). My front pockets are already fully occupied with keys, a Fisher space pen, two SAK's, and a J-frame Smith. I am considering pocket sheath carry in my backpocket (factory sheath) OR neck carry with steel chain or paracord (also in the factory sheath). What are your preferences for daily carry of an 11, and why??? THANKS.

I started carrying my 14, scout carry but in the front after I rigged up some keepers. With the belt I wear every day (Its got this D ring on the front I have never found a use for until this mod....LOL, that holds the but of the knife really close in) this option was the best. My 14, is the only blade I EDC now. I gave up the folder (although I do carry a folder for work,....yup as soon as I'm off, my folder goes in my bag only to come out when I "clock in" again.) But as you said belt carry is really not an option. I had this really neat idea for a money clip type holder but I have been too busy to mod it up properly.

The money clip mod (in progress)

My scout carry (I now have the keepers velcro'd to the sheath and it work phenominally)

I know these don't help you, but it might give you some ideas for your own carry....Good luck

I say relocate your keys to a belt loop, the smith to your ankle, and carry the 11 all day long in your dominant side front pocket

As thin as the knife in it's stock sheath is, backpocket carry is not a bad idea and would probably work for your needs. Maybe some inner tube stretched over the sheath to help keep it from shifting around as much and sliding, but it should definitely work for ya.

It felt weird sitting on it (that's what she said) LOL

This is what I do when carrying my BK-11 in Trailbum's sheath. The inner tube helps a lot.

I agree it is weird to sit on.

Hahaha.. +1. I carry mine around my neck as well. Got wooden Tommy handles on it right now, but soon I will be getting another necker, (either 11 or 14) and I will probably be neck carrying that with paracord wrap for the summer. The wooden handles are just too bulky and weighty to wear around the neck without a sweater on.

I neck carry mine in a 710 sheath. Mine has factory micarta, and that combo with 710's compact and light sheath, make it a pleasure to carry every day.

ive been thinking about the same exact thing and im leaning toward neck carry with a better sheath that doesnt dull the blade if you draw less than perfectly. one thing to concider is i would use the metal chain for neck carry instead of paracord. if it were to ever get caught on something (or grabbed at during a fight) it can easily break with a mild tug where paracord isnt breaking under your weight.

I carry a BK14 in my front right pocket of my jeans. I've got a ranger band on it to keep my bic in place. The knife doesn't shift at all, stays right where I want it. Not sure how it'd work with khakis/dress pants though.

I should add that it rides in a kydex pocket sheath that was a gift from a now banned member.

I carry a Cami 11 in the stock sheath with a beaded chain ran through some gutted paracord. I also have a firesteel on the side with some ranger band and two neodymium magnets holding it in so it doesn't fall.

The 710 made this one up with an adjustment for carry height. You basically have two lengths of cord instead of one around your neck. Its much more comfy.
