BK-11 to the rescue

My Cougar wouldn't start. I had just left WalMart picking up some stuff for my 1 1/2 year old son and when I turned the key, click click click click. Uh Oh.

The positive wire/terminal on the battery was severely corroded. To the point it was covered in green sticky powdery stuff.

Ack.

Well, Fortunately Wally carries that stuff. It's common and fairly cheap.

Used the trusty BK-11 to strip the end of the new wire and scrape the battery post. Also used it to pry off the seriously corroded old terminal. What a useful little knife! Try doing this with a BK-9. Sometimes less really is more.

Got a jump from a guy in a Jeep 4x4 who just pulled in as I was finishing the operation and I was back on the road in no time.

BK-11, everyone should have one with them at all times

BK-11 is officially my new EDC. The little knife is just perfect. Combined with a pocket tool, you can do just about anything with it.

Ethan Becker is the John Moses Browning of knife designers.

Cool story. I always like to hear stories from people using their knives "in the wild." I just received a BK-11 in the mail yesterday. I haven't had a chance to put it through its paces yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Glad to hear it's worked out well for you.

Well, I don't know if it's perfect; I'd quibble about the grip a little bit. (Hence the BK-14) But as Ethan travels to the SHOT Show, he must be blushing. Being compared to JMB is one HELL of a compliment. Well done, Wolf.

The smallish grip doesn't concern me much as the BK-11 is a smallish knife. IMO it adds to the overall compactness of the BK-11, makes it more discrete and easier to carry. Definitely going to get some micarta for it though.

As for Mr Becker, he designs simple, reliable and practical knives which work every time. They're sharp, robust, and just about anyone can afford one, or two, or three... And he has a knife which can fill any niche, any role, and a variety of styles so everyone can find one which appeals to them and their application. All this and they're realistically priced. You know, much like the 1911A1 or the FN Hi-Power...

There are times I've done things with a BK&T which I probably shouldn't have done, and the Becker knife surprised me at how well it did it with flying colors.

My BK11 has been around my neck every day since I made the new kydex sheath for it. I don't even notice it, and forget it's there. Then when I need it ZAM! It helped me out at my camp today cuttind down some horrible thorny vines.
