One of the next Beckers I was planning on buying was a BK 13 Remora USA. I got lucky and won one here in a Beckerhead give away last week.

Thank You Tyler _C!

I wanted one of these to keep it in the Remora pouch in my BK 9 sheath. Mostly to strike my fire steel with.

After receiving it I was surprise what a great little knife it was. The pictures I had seen of this didn't do it justice. Maybe they were the Chinese model.

This is a very well made little knife. For as small as it is it feels very capable. It came very sharp, much sharper than my BK 14 did. Slices through paper like a razor with no tearing and made a pile of wood shavings easily. I like the texture on the handle too.

I have been pocket carrying it for 2 days now and looks like I will be buying another one for my BK 9 sheath, this one is staying in my pocket!

Pics!

Congrats. Tis a sweet little blade indeed. I carry mine in my small survival pouch.

Are you planning on doing a paracord wrap?

I know it's a $20 knife, but I am still surprised that I have seen micarta slabs for these, given that we all like to mod.

Guess that's the equivalent of putting $5K rims on a $1500 car...

I was messing around with a wrap last night. You cant wrap it up as far as I would like and still lock it into the sheath.

Also is its also not that easy to take it out of the sheath on the BK9 with the 9 in it so I think a wrap would interfere some there as well.

You can see in this pic how far the sheath goes.

I might keep messing with it and come up with something I like.

Just last night I was thinking about some nice thin scales for this, possibly glued on to keep them thin.

I would buy some handles for this even if they cost more than the knife if I liked them. ;):)

Lol. I have a $2000 stereo in my $1000 truck.

On topic: I love my remora. Though I really only use it as a firesteel striker. Also it was free with my BK7.

I can feel me ears ringing now.

I have $3000 in wheels tires and lift kit on my $1500 truck. :)

13 is a great little knife isn't it. Amazing how many people say "what a cool little knife".

I know it's not huge, not made of some super steel ... blah, blah, blah. But I like it too.

Sharpens in a heart beat. Easy to carry and just a ... "cool little knife" (LOL)

Nice wrap. No trouble with the sheath?

No, I carry it in with the 7 or the 9. (it came with the 9)

Maybe heat the top of the sheath a little an form it, if the wrap gets in the way ? I don't have the sheath with mine, so I don't know if it would mess with the fit. Just an Idea.

I found these on some site. "Jigged camel bone" scales:

Cool mod on the sheath. I may try that on mine so I can do a full cord wrap. The 13 is perfect for small chores around camp and simple pocket carry. Mine never leaves my side.

When I am on the lake in swim trunks I tie the 13 in the sheath to the strings in the suit. May be a little slow to get but the knife stays put.
