Bk 13

Ordered a couple BK 13 this morning to give as gifts. Now looking at possible scales and leather sheaths for them. Any good ideas? Thought Becker or Kbar would sell both but I was evidently wrong. Can't change the evil bay orders.
 
Make your own. Simple waxed thread wrap makes for a great handle material without adding much bulk. Scrap leather and about 1 hour and a visit to the sheaths forum will have you making the sheath in no time. You can use the factory plastic sheath as an internal liner as well. Plus, your giftees will think the knife that much cooler than if you bought the accessories.
 
Good idea! I have an email in to the seller right now seeing if they will let me trade up to the BK 11. They have them listed a bit higher so I figure they will go for it since they will make a few more bucks. The 11 just looks to be more of what they will like. These guys spent time in Nam with me so I want the gifts to be special.
 
Cord wrap works great on the 13.

Well, the seller worked with me on this and instead of the BK 13's I have two BK 11's on the way.

good to hear. For my general knife use the blade/handle size on the 11 is far more useful. Whoever is getting a BK11 for christmas is pretty lucky...

those turned out really great. I saw your progress pic's but not the finished knife. Nice one...
