I arrived home to a package...
Finally, the strike is over. My BK-14 will have handles!
I'm still trying to decide which color to put on. Here they are in orange. I think orange will go best with an unstripped BK-14. Ethan is sending me a couple of freebies, so I think I will definitely leave the coating on one of them and use the orange set.
I think the black set looks great, but I will probably go ahead and strip the knife completely.
These scales are great. I was worried that they would be a bit too small in my hand, but they really are just right for a knife of this size. I was originally disappointed that the lanyard hole was not the full size of the one in the knife, but now I see that this adds to the strength of the handles. If I drill out the lanyard hole, I think I might risk breaking off part of the handle in a drop. The only bump in the road so far with these handles has been that they bump up against the sheath azwelke made for me. A little sanding on my sheath will fix that pretty easily though.
