I decided to leave my 14 coated for a few months. Used it to baton some mesquite, cut up meat and other small knife duty. Decided to strip, patina and changed out the scales today. One of my favorite things about beckers is you can beat on them and make the look great with a little love and sand paper.

Very nice just starting to get together a post about my BK14 make over. Again nice job :)

Nice work. Been awhile since you've been around, good to see you back. Nice photography skills as well.

Nice work. Mind telling us how you went about the malt vinegar patina? I'm thinking of doing the same but haven't seen much in way of the process and steps around here.

No problem. After the blade is stripped ( I used citrus strip) then sanded with 400 grit wet sand. I used a sandwich bag filled half way with malt vinegar let soak about 1 hour. Remove light sand again one more soak 45 min till you achieve the color you like.

To the OP: Very nice work on the 14. Love the vinegar patina.

PS. how are handle scales compared to a cord wrap? and again really nice mods, gives it a refined functional look
Nice work on yours too. As for this question, the handles make it a completely different knife. It makes it a legitimate bushcraft knife instead of just a necker. But it is still able to be a necker if that is what you want to use it for.
