As a new dad, husband, and birth partner, I had the honor of cutting my son's (2nd son. 3rd child) umbilical cord today. What did I use to cut the cord? Not those junky surgical scissors. That's for sure. My trusty BK-14 did the job in a single slice.

I think the whole project came out pretty good :D

Damn! They wouldn't let me do that. Stupid doctors, not you AIG. Congratulations Dad!

Wife's OB make me soak it in this alcohol sterilizing solution first. It only cost me a few little rust spots. Totally worth it. She did comment on how sharp the blade was. I must be doing a decent job of keeping it sharp if I'm impressing someone who uses a scalpel regularly.

Stickin' this for a while.

Well done, my friend, well done.

Congrats mom and dad, that's some incredible stuff right there. A fine looking little man too. His name?

Nice, not even a day old and he has his own sticky :D and maybe even an honorary BH#(I'm sure they will give him one if you ask nicely :D )

I would have gotten him in OD green, but he is still pretty cute. :D

Congrats! Always appreciate seeing other proud papas. Enjoy your growing family!!!

His name is Ezra. He didn't come in OD green, but the OD green will definitely be coming in the next 24 hours. I would love to get us each a BH#. His first real knife is definitely going to be a Becker after all. And thanks to everyone for the congratulations!
