Hey all

what do you think of this kydex sheath I made?
Any suggestions would be very helpful as this is one of my first kydex sheaths I've made.

thx

Yep, looks good.

One of the holes seems a bit close to the edge. Not sure if that'd be a weak point. Asethically, you might smooth the edge more.

But very nice for a first try.

Very nice.
Two thoughts. Your thumb may take a beating - the ramp looks a bit rough and jagged? And consider a drain hole... don't ask me how I know:rolleyes:

Very nice work!
I'd say look at molding in a thumb ramp kinda like 710 and Azwelke do.
It's nice because you can eject the knife with just a push of the thumb and not pull it out violently.
I really like those style of clips too. Very versatile. I knew Esee made some, but I didn't know Bladetech made them too. Very cool!!

Yeah they are know as molle lok work great still need to buy a tek lok though

The rivet that is real close was a grinding accident didn't realize it bites that deep I want to sand the sheath smother but don't want to risk loosing much material with that rivet

Thx for all the help

This is why I love this group. The comments could be viewed as attacking but not one was mean spirited. For a first try you did a good job and the things pointed out are the same that many have said before to me included. The point of my ramblings is keep working on it and these folks here will give you beat you in a loving manner until you get it right. Just as a family should. Oh you have to have a drain hole. Everyone knows that (only cuz we all have removed rust from not having one).

Yah, been there, done that. ;)

As recommended, do it by hand and take your time.

Not too much of a risk here. It's not like it's a critical mount point, or has to support a lot of weight, and any crack could easily be expoxied.

Btw it does have a Drain hole when I folded the sheath over for taco it didn't get flat all the way so it's integrated into the design :D.

I'll post a pic later
