Well I sent the BK-16 out yesterday to KaBar to see about getting a replacement, and ordered a BK-15. The 16 should be to Kabar this Monday and the Bk-15 should be here Monday. That will work out alright. That will give me time to get the 15 set up to my liking and use it for now around the farm until the 16 gets back. I hope it doesn't take to long for the 16 to get exchanged thought because I I really like that knife. ;)

The 16 is a fantastic knife. I just got a 15 and I can see it's merits as well. The coating has got to go though.

The 15 will be your most used knife especially in the kitchen. Strip it and you'll love it more.;)
Hopefully your 16 will be replaced ASAP.

I have both and while I really enjoy the 15 i still like the 16 more. The 15 will not feel out of place as anyone's camp knife if paired with something larger such as the 4 or 9 or an axe. Same goes for the 16 I just find the 16 feels a little better in hand and in my opinion it is a little more versatile....

I love the entire becker line but as Mr Becker has said the 16 was the knife he had been lookog for since he was 14. I feel the same way. It feels so natural in your hand and is capable of so much for it's size. I have a saber grind version as well but the ffg is just plain awesome.

Enjoy them both and put them to good use..

Cheers

I also have both. The 15 is awesome at carving large cuts of meat and steaks, awesome blade.

You can't go wrong with either but I have a gaggle of blades that are similar to the 16 and 17 and the 15 just really caught my eye. Once acquired, a bunch of similar sized knives I have are sitting and the 15 gets all the love in that category.

I am looking forward to trying out the 15. Seems like it will be good for butchering animals. I will try it out on some goats and chickens this fall.:D

Good choice. I love the 15, even if I don't use it as a do it all knife. I've got two that will be rehandled & given spots in the kitchen, one that stays with my camping gear, and an extra (just because the price was right).
Hope you get your 16 back, soon - you should probably buy another one right away, to minimize the risk of ever being without one again.

Yeah I have been curious about the 15 for a while now.

Not having the 16 around will give me time to put the 15 through its paces.

Woo-hoo! The Bk-15 looks like it arrived early at the PO. :D I will go get it here in a little bit.

I find the BK-15 to just be really comfortable to use. I tend to like it as well as the BK-16.

So how are you liking your new 15?

I like the 15 pretty well so far. Haven't used it a ton yet, but have used it in the kitchen some.

By the way, I guess the new 16 showed up on Monday, which is also when mine made it to KaBar. So I guess they sent one out right after I sent mine back to them. Pretty sweet.
