I just stripped my brand new BK16 but felt a bit of a dish in one part of the blade. I took some sharpie and painted the entire blade then hit it with a flat sanding black. Sure enough there's still dark spots on the blade where the sandpaper never touched it. What should I do?

Thanks, Jake

IIRC all the knives Kabar produces are ground by hand, so there will be some variances. I suggest just using it and sharpening it until it's back to Normal.
However, if it's really bothering you contact Kabar and they should set you up right

I still advise to just keep it and use it, but if it really does bother you contact kabar.

Also, have any pics of the problem?

take a pic.
the best way to get a flat-flat-flat grind is hand-finishing. Without pix it just sounds like a standard part of mass manufacturing.

With out pictures I can't be sure but I think I would just use it.
Why do people feel the need to post here about their problems from the factory before they contact KaBar?
IMO the manufacturer should be given the opportunity to make it right before it is posted on a public forum. Maybe it's just me?
No offensive intended.

Hey LG&M .....

Certainly from a PR standpoint I agree with you but, I think people are so used to being ignored that they seek a public forum..... Lord knows, I have been on a few very long "holds" lately and can Identify ....... KA-BAR is usually very responsive but ya don't know that in advance....... Thanks for the post and the sentiments........

All Best...
