Thinking of purchasing the BK-17... I like the design (and prefer clip points over drop points), although, in an interview with Ethan I saw on youtube, he said the production models would be full flat ground. Here on Tomar's, it looks like a 3/4th grind. http://tomarskabars.com/BK-17_INFO.html Is this wrong? I've seen pictures of the BK-16 FFG, but on Tomar's it also appears to have a 3/4th grind  . http://tomarskabars.com/BK-16_INFO.html Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Also, if anyone knows of any other knives around the price-point of the BK-17 that are FFG and have a clip point blade, I'd really appreciate it.

well with a clip point knife i am pretty sure that to keep the point and swedge in line you cannot make it ffg. if you look at a usmc kabar for example. on the website it says flat grind however it is a saber grind when you get it due to the swedge. however i am sure an expert will chime in and correct me.

Bummer.

I know most clip points aren't FFG, but I was hoping. I think it could be done, I'm no knife designer, but I don't see that it would be too difficult to do.

*NOT AN EXPERT, JUST BEEN WATCHING SINCE FEBRUARY* If you want a clip it has to be a saber grind, as far as what Ethan said, he said that the 16 would be a FFG because that's what he's wanted for longer than I've been alive. The 15 and 17 are the same in blade geometry as their FPR counterparts.

I'm an expert.

The two guys above me qualify as such as well, according to the info they put forward.

Don't worry.

I have it on good authority that just such a knife, might exist soon.

Good authority.

Hmm...

Well, until that mystery blade shows up, I'll occupy my time with the 17. Saber or flat, it's still an awesome knife.

As in, a completely new BK?

Spill the beans Moose!! Tanner already started 12 threads about it!!

Yes, brand new BKT

Yes, mystery blade until I see the prototype, until then, its just a mystery.

No, spill the beans? You ever read any of my teasers on BFC before?:D

There are new knives in the works lads. You think E and Kabar is just gonna spit out a few blades and let it lay?

Hell no. BKT is in an all time high, and they ain't gonna stop.

Enjoy the new steel you got, and we'll see what comes up in the fall. Until then, all I can say, is game changing.

I wasn't really expecting you to spill it. Exciting though!! So happy I found out about these awesome knives, can't wait to find out which ones are next!

I think I need to find a bank to rob..... Moose is making me hungrier and hungrier for Beckers...... I think I'm gonna rob a bank and move to TN, you guys are driving me nuts!

6 threads in 5 days...OMG, somebody stop me!!

As BeckerHead #220 of the cult, I hereby invoke the gods awesome powers over anti-threaded-ness in an attempt to stop (state your name)'s posting of new threads that exceed the number of days!

It shall be done!

Is that better?
