bk-2 gen 1 and gen 2

hey guys,ive been wondering about this for awhile,and thought id just ask.ive got a gen 1 bk-2,and absolutely love it.but lately ive been hearing everyone rave about the gen 2 and the only noticeable difference i see is the hammer pommel and the sheath.ive read on here that most people prefer the gen 1 sheath as well.anybody got any input on this?:confused:
 
I prefer the 1st gen sheath because it can worn either right side or left side, as it is ambidextrous. As far as the knife goes, the 2nd gen has the extended pommel and also is skeletonized. It is reported to be weighted more forward than the 1st gen, which supposedly facilitates better chopping. I have both knives, but prefer the 1st gen hands down.
 
I'm digging the pommel extension. The other Beckers had them, so, why not the BK2. I do like the Gen2 more than the Gen1, but, potato, potato. Its all good. Moose
 
oooohh,ok.well,guess ill have to get a gen 2 to see how they compare.actually,its just an excuse to get another bk-2 :)

while i haven't done it to mine, i'm fairly certain that the 2nd gen sheath is easily changed from righty to lefty by removing four screws, moving the belt loop clip to the opposite side, and reinstalling the screws.

for the record, i still prefer the 1st gen. actually, mine is in a BK-7 sheath.

What? BK2 in a BK7 sheath? How did it not explode? You should fix that asap, as the fate of the world could be hinged on the molecular instability of keeping a monster like that in a non BK2 sheath. :D Couldn't resist. Moose

i just love the cordura sheath with the pouch.
i took my gen 2 sheath and lashed a puma duke sheath to the face to have a pouch on that too.

I have had both. I like the 2nd gen knife and the 1st gen sheath.

I have a Gen2 and took the sheath apart to diagnose an issue. Moose
 
Interesting thing might be is that what most refer to as Gen 1 and Gen 2 should probably actually be Gen 2 and 3.

The generation 1 would probably be the old Blackjack made version...it was grey instead of black and as I recall had a leather sheath.

Dont remember much more but if anybody has one they could post a photo of, would like to see it.
