Decided to order the Bk 2 today! Should have it tomorrow. My 9 and 5 are too big to carry on the hip form my taste and my 15 is too pretty to dink up :p. so I thought the 2 would fit the bill"

So I have two (no pun) questions before it arrives :


How is the plastic sheath it comes with, is it zytel?


Will the 2 fit in a tweeners sheath if I dont like the plastic? I have an extra tweener sheath......


** Bonus Question **

Who does the best sheath work, scale work on here? VERY interested in custom scales for my 5 and custom leather for my 5 15 and 9.

It's a Zytel sheath. Due to the width and thickness of that tank, it probably won't fit in a tweener sheath.

Bonus!!

Look up Azwelke and 710 Customs. Al does some awesome sheaths and Julio does awesome sheaths and scales.
 
Iffin you decide to not do a custom sheath, get the Spec Ops Combat Master sheath. Works awesome, fits perfect, 30 bucks!!

 
The BK-22 is a BK-2 with a nylon sheath instead of the Zytel one that comes with the 2. The knives are identical so if you don't like your sheath you could source a BK-22 sheath. I'm not a fan of molded sheaths in general so when I ordered my BK-2 I ordered a BK-22 and while its not the best sheath ever I find it more than good enough for my needs. If I were to replace it I would do custom leather for my BK-2.

You will see how absurd the question is when your 2 arrives. :D

Agreed, the short spec ops combat master sheath is perfect for the 2. And it's an even better sheath than the tweeners' (which are pretty good to start with).
 
Haha, after a little more research I've found that it won't fit the tweener. Should have looked first I guess but then I wouldnt have anything to ask the beckerheads. Thus bringing joy to both our days :).

I do like molded sheaths when they fit correctly. Anyone keep the Zytel for theirs?
 
I use either the factory plastic sheath or the Spec Ops sheath, depending on what I'm going to be doing. I like both.
The plastic does well in water and mud, the Spec Ops is delightfully well made and has a very useful pouch.
 
Congrats . I was thinking of updating mine as it's the older version , but decided to keep it as it's a great knife , and eventually buy myself a bk10

Cool rig. I haven't seen CM's for $30 in a while though.
 
you can by the sheath from kabar as well I think its about 20 bucks, but at the price better too get the spec ops sheath me thinks!!
 
Call me crazy but I am not wild about the sheaths that come with the Beckers. To long for my taste I think. It just seems like there is too much extra going on. I prefer a thin, well molded kydex or leather.

CM which resides on my battle belt since it weaves very securely into 3 rows of Molle.




Kelley Customs bushcrafter style. This is my carry sheath that my BK2 rides in 90% of the time. Can't speak highly enough of this sheath. Super priced and outstanding quality. Plus the builder is a Beckerhead here.

Also yea, it just came in the mail...whoever told me that it was absurd to ask if it would fit in a tweener sheath....damn man, you were right. This thing is BEAST. Gonna nickname this one Lynch.

Well, perhaps I should not have posted the price I last saw them, Dec 13. $29.95 at the Clothing and Sales store at JBLM.

I figured that was the retail price, not taking into account all the non-mil types out there who do not have access to AAFES. Sorry everyone!!
 
I think there are periodically specials on the spec-ops sheaths. I bought two on sale early last year for a very nice price.

You can order from http://www.kelleycustoms.com/ . Psyops is the owner of Kelley Customs so you could also probably just PM here on the site. I used his webpage and e-mailed him.
