BK-2 Micarta Goodness

Got some new micarta scales for my BK-2 and I must say they really make the 2 feel even more solid and indestructible, I really like them :thumbup:

That poor mulberry tree made some great wheel chocks in a pinch, unfortunately the landlord was going to take it down this spring, fortunately for me I got to it first with my Becker

I took this P.O.S. hatchet with me too, but it proved to be almost completely useless as its made out of the most worthless steel ever, kind of like hard-ish shiny putty :barf:.

1 1/4 Lbs. of putty on a nice cheap plastic handle makes a good baton though

Are those the scales from Kabar? Did you darken them a bit?

DerekH was looking for some KaBar grivory for a project.
I think he even contacted KaBar and was told they don't sell just the scales.
You might give him a shout if you don't want them.

That BK2 looks great. I'm going to do one up like that sometime this year. :thumbup:

Yup, those are just regular Kabar micarta scales with a nice coat of 3-In-1 oil to darken them up a little bit.

the oil didnt slicken them up any?

they do look good

Nope they absorbed a little and I wiped the rest off real good, now they're just darker

The pictures of the handles by themselves, without a knife, don't look to impressive. These and other pictures make them look really nice!

Well, I now have a new sheath coming for my Gen 2 BK-2 with micarta.
I just don't own the knife or the scales.
Nothing terribly unusual though. I've owned ammo long before finally buying the matching gun.
