Hello all. I've been absent from the forum for a few months and was out of touch, so please pardon the if this is a repeat question.

I see from reviewing some posts that the BK-2 is being modified. The facts I have been able to pick up after about two hours of sifting through old threads are as follows:

extended pommel for hammering
lighter?

Can anyone detail the exact changes, or refer me to an old post that might mention them? Will the blade thickness change? Tang thickness? Geometry changes? etc.

Thanks,
Greg

The pommel will look like the crewman and they skeletonized the handle some to make it lighter.

The new knives are finally being shipped. It's only a matter of time before pics from the new owners hit the forum. A picture is worth a thousand words!

I am VERY much looking forward to the new model. I have one of the first of the KaBar's with the box incorrectly labeled "Champion". And I have a Camillus. I will probably keep those two in reserve and use the new one. I assume that the lighter handle may make it better at chopping. Not sure till I try.

Thank you, I found it there, but I think I got sort of lucky and stumbled upon the right section as there's a ton of info there. And thanks to those who replied with that same info. I'll try not to clutter the forum with the 22nd repetition of the same question. :D
