Bk 2 or Bk 22 which do you like?

Seems like lately most people are looking at the bk22 just wondering what the Beckerheads feel is the better sheath. I have both but must admit I like the Bk 2 sheath best. Just wondering what the general opinion is?

I like the bk2 sheath the best. If I really wanted to attach it to a bag I'd probably prefer the nylon sheath but I like having mine on my belt.

I messed up the sheath that came with the 2, trying to add molle straps so I bought a 22 sheath. it stays on my pack in the truck, I don't even use the plastic one any more. I did however make a leather belt sheath, that sees some use as well.

I really like the sheath for the 2. Mind you it took some work, but NOW I like it. I don't have the 22 sheath, but I have put about $30 into making it a hell of a sheath. Esee Molle back from the E-5/6, and the Esee pouch.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

My biggest concern is how the retention strap on the BK2 sheath is attached. I'm worried it'll come off if I try and accustom it to accommodating a ranger band.

I hate the nylon sheaths.
I've always like the BK2 sheaths though. Tough, good retention.
And I swear, as God as my witness, I never had any dulling issues with it.
I could be wrong, but I think a lot of that issue had to do with how the individual draws the knife. Since Ka-bar lowered the glass content in the sheaths, it seems like I haven't really heard much about the dulling issues any more.
A short SpecOps sheath trumps them both though. :D

I like the BK2 standard sheath I also have an Azwelke sheath which is fantastic.

I have the factory kydex/plastic sheath didn't like the strap so replaced it with a aftermarket adapter with a tac-loc
It was alot better, But after I tried a Leather one I was hooked really like Danglers too.

The bk2 is now stripped and one inch of the spine is Jimped

All my BK's have extra Heavy Duty Sheaths made by a LEATHERSMITH out of MO. and I am always amazed by the work he puts into his Sheaths and his below average price plus him putting up with me telling him what and how I want it done and at times I just tell him do it like you think I would like it done and I have never been disappointed with what he has sent me.!!

That leather sheath is beautiful Truth.

Thank you
I don't Think anyone could go wrong with Leather, I like it for knives andmost of my guns.
And you can see some outstanding work online some of it lower priced than you would believe,
But still nothing beat the prices on the Beckers my Sheath and Wood cost more than Double what the bk2 Cost.

Lol, my handles together cost more than a BK9 or the BK2 that they are on!
I'd love to get into leather sheaths for them.

However I see them in the 100+ range for the BK9, if I find one for 60 bucks I'd probably pick one up.

For me, BK2 plastic with a Tek-Lok when the sheath will get wet, Spec Ops for all other occasions.

My sentiments exactly. It rains here all the time and plastic or nylon makes no difference. They both get wet. Spec Ops is the best option, IMO.

I'm all about kydex with good friction retention, sheath and unsheath one-handed without fumbling with a snap or anything.

My nylons tend to cause my knife to fog up with humidity during rain, I guess because of holding moisture and having some kind of temperature difference, idk. Plastic is just better

I have Kydex and nylon. I prefer nylon on some blades, kydex on others. It just depends. I carry my 2 in a spec ops, my 9 in kydex, my 24 in kydex. I just don't like the stock sheaths anymore, so really, for me, any option other than stock is better. To each their own I suppose. My daughter carries her 16 in the stock sheath and loves it, so, I'm not really one to argue. I just like what I like, and recommend what I like.

If I had to choose though between the plastic and nylon sheath for a new 2, it would be the nylon. Of course, it would not remain in that particular sheath if I were gonna use the knife, just sayin'
