BK-2 using 2 screws instead of 3

Hey guys.

I changed out the stock grip screws for some nice shiny stainless steel ones. The new screws are 10-24 x 3/4". I'm using longer screws then the originals because I'm using stainless steel nylon lock nuts and needed the extra length so the nuts can get a good solid hold. Because of the extra length the center screw on the grip kept poking me in the hand so I just removed it. Will having just 2 screws holding my scales down be enough?

I think I'm just being a little paranoid but I figured couldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks.

You'll probably be fine but why not just put the stock screw back in the center hole and blue lock tite it in. Or get a shorter stainless screw with a standard stainless nut with lock tite.

I would put another one and do what fal'er said

hell, even with 3 tightened bolts on my bk2, my grips move while batoning

I can only imagine what might happen with only 2

Grind 'em down so they fit just below flush and use all three.

Take a file to that middle screw. Heck, even a nail file would work.

perhaps put a ranger band around the handles too?

If you have a grinder just shorten the screw. Or toss a washer on the other side and it might get you enough room.

Thanks Guys for posting and the great advice. I didn't even think about filing it down. I must be getting old. The 3rd screw is going back in today.

Thanks everyone.
