Can someone in the know share the details of the differences between these two knives?

I am primarily interested in those who have cut with both (or either one), sharing their experiences with the comparative performance of these two as tools.

But also interested in any other notable differences.

Thanks,
Brome

Thank you, 91bravo, for the link. And outstanding comparison review.

Looks like you really like the newer 21.
And you mentioned that the sandblasted older 21 stuck in the wood more, thinking it was due to the thickness of the steel.
Could it have been the sandblasting gripping the material more?
I have had some cutting efficiency issues with sandblasting on my own blades, so don't use it anymore. After sanding of the sandblasted finish, they cut much better.

It looks like the newer 21 is thicker, but with a higher grind than the older 21.
Any chance you could share the primary bevel angles for these two?

I am trying to choose the lightest best cutter between these.
I am initially drawn to the older one, as I assume it is lighter (thinner stock).
My experience with other "kukri shaped objects", bolos, etc., is I prefer the lighter, thinner stock; I just find they cut better for me.
And since I have to carry them all day, lighter is better for me.

Thanks,
Brome
