BK-3 as kit tool

I was thinking of getting a bk-3 and adding it to my trucks Oh S**T kit. I want something that I can dig and split wood with. Something I can use to do all the things to that I shouldnt do with my BK-2. Is anyone familiar with the tool, its limitations and odd uses?
