Tonight, I made up a batch of chicken salad with the BK-5.
I was sort of winging it, but it turned out really tasty.
Served it straight up on some good rye bread and scarfed it down.

Here's the "recipe":

2 boneless breasts, boiled till tender and chopped
10-12 dill pickle slices, diced
handful of pecans, chopped
1 celery stalk, diced
1 small apple, chopped
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
dash or two of powdered cayenne
salt and pepper to taste
mayonnaise to desired consistency

The apple, I cut first and then realized it was going to turn.
So I stuck the apple bits in some water with a squirt of lemon juice.
Next time, I'll just chop up the apple last.

Looks pretty tasty! I would love to have some company over for dinner and pull that bad boy out to start slicing and dicing some grub up with :) shock and awe!

Looks very tasty!!! It would be cool if we had a cooking thread with more tasty treats for all to see.

As everything about this thread is awesome, it has been duly subscribed to! Thanks!

I have and use a recipe I got from a deli it looks almost identical to your except mine has chunks of smoked gouda cheese in it. Yum I'm gonna make some this weekend. Thanks for the reminder!!!!

Once upon a time, I put a BK-5 black bean soup recipe on here.
Here we go: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/714242-Becker-Black-Bean-Soup
Now you folks can do soup and sandwich.

I thought Ethan would appreciate this one. :D

It's a quick and easy recipe for a hearty dish that's a family favorite here on cold days. It's a little like black bean soup meets jambalaya.

Start with a couple of lengths of smoked sausage. Here, I'm using turkey sausage.

Use your Becker knife to chop the sausage into medallions. No other brand will do. :p

In a three-quart or larger cookpot, add 1 can of black beans, 1 can of Mexican RO*TEL (or the equivalent), 1 cup of white rice, about two cups of water, and a teaspoon of minced garlic.

Bring everything to a boil, stirring occasionally, and then reduce to a simmer. Continue to stir occasionally, and cook until rice is tender. It's that simple. We usually top ours with some shredded cheese and a little cilantro (dried is okay, fresh is better). Bon apettit!

Seriously, I hate/envy the fact you have those scales. I just paid 299.00 for them. Well, they did come with a free s30v blade...

And I just ate lunch. Maybe I'll have to make this tomorrow. :D:thumbup:

They both look real tasty. The bean dish is something i could make on a hiking trip. Ive never heard of that ROTEL-stuff before though.

BTW i didnt know you called that rye bread. This here is what we call rye bread here in Scandinavia/Northern Europe. Bread dosent get any healthier than this:
