This past week I have been putting my deer stands up at the lease, and my BK-7 has been close at hand every trip. I have used this knife to chop down a small oak tree(about 5" round), clearing limbs around my stands, and many other tasks. I love this knife!! Yesterday, I decided to trim a few limbs on the path, and I hear a Rattler not too far from me. He was a pretty one, and only 4', with six rattlers. I really didn't want to be shooting out there this close to opening season, so I backed off him a few steps, and luckily I found a limb that was split at one end, and waited him out to start moving. As he moved I pinned his head to the ground, and used the BK-7 to cut his head off.

Anyway, I decided that I will carry my BK-7 with me in my truck or on my four wheeler, and I think I will purchase a BK-9 for good measures.

Nice one Rattler man. It's snake season here as well and I saw 3 on yesterdays walk. Dugites - man they are fast this time of year. I'm carrying the BK7 for the same reason, although it's very small odds that I'll need it as they scuttle out of the way pretty fast.

I don't believe in killing any animal unnecessarily but seem to have this irrational hatred of snakes.
