Been looking into my first Becker and I like the BK-7. They seem to be more difficult to find or in limited supply, are these being discontinued? Is it worthwhile to pick up one while I still can?

No. They live on. They have the new coating and lazer etch coming out feb 1 so suppliers might be runnin low waiting on the release of the new and improved version

Welcome!

Nope, very much continued.

Not sure where you're looking, but Tomars Kabars and The Knife Connection both have them listed in stock and ready to be sent to your front door :D

If you want the roll stamped model with the old coating, better order now before the new ones go out (if you plan to strip the coating I'd go with this one). After 2/1/12, you may want to call in your order to see if what they have is the previous generation or the new coating with the laser etched logo.

yeah, it's going to be discontinued! never! it sells far too well...

just hunt around. check the for-sales. people tend to flip them. ePrey, Amazonia, stuff like that. you'll get one.

or ... you could buy something else while you wait :D

buy Becker.

Pretty much what Hat said.

No, they are not discontinued, nor is there any plans what so ever in the immediate future, to discontinue them. They are a great knife.

Some supplies may be running low, but rest assured, you will be able to get one.

Might I suggest Tomar's, John almost always has stock.

Nope, not being discontinued.

The new ones aren't coming out until March though I thought, but I guess I could be wrong.

This is January 24, not April 1! :grumpy:

When I saw the title yesterday, I had to open the thread and after seeing Bladite's post eased my mind.

Aren't BK7's like Lay's Potato Chips? :)
