I made the micarta scales a while back and though the micarta was supposedly black and green it was black and grey. So I gave the scales a dunking in green Rit dye and voila!

Nicely done, Sawyer. Those are some truly unique scales. I'm not sure that color is legal for scales in Philadelphia, though: better send them to me for exhaustive testing. Please note that full testing can take up to twenty years.

Thanks for the compliments guys. And I live in an Irish neighborhood and the Rit dye was Kelly green ;)

I like it! Did you have to prepare the micarta in any way, or did you just drop the scales in the dye?

Not only a great dye job, but the workmanship on the handles is top notch.

Rit dye, you can get it in powder and liquid in super markets near the detergent.

Great work on the dye job, now I need 2 pair of scales and a package of green rit :D

NICE. Hmmmm. I could get my wife a BK7 and use some Pink dye I have. That would be cool.
