Hey guys, I just got my first Becker and love it. Great feel just need to cord the back end for some more leverage chopping. My question is about the sheath. It rattles with the knife in it and I remember some one else had a problem with this a while back but don't have the search function. It had some thing to do with a hair dryer if I remember right. Do you heat the plastic inside with the hair dryer and squish it? I don't want to mess up the sheath so I figured I would ask first. Thank you guys for your help and MR. Becker for making a bad a$$ knife that doesn't break the bank.:D

I may be wrong but I think you blow dry it with the knife in it it softens up the kydex and you hold it on both sides of the blade to reduce play. does it have space on the blade/spine area or on the sides of the blade?

if its like mine, its got play on top, bottom, and side to side of the knife. Mine totally needs something done to it too.

wow...I wonder if thats all of them or are they just QC slips at kabar? maybe mr. becker will guide us through this bog of unknowing...or a hero employee of kabar?

they explain what to do in this thread guys. its the best I could do with no search... sorry.

Dip in boiling water and shape with knife in sheath. Gotcha, will try this when I get home. Thanks Spook.

thats what im here for. the continual expansion of kabar/becker awareness. if I am successful every home in america will have a becker knife in it. glad to help tankerwolf.

Is the liner stitched in or just a friction fit?
I don't like the rattle on my 9, and i want it to help with retention too.

Know how I got rid of the rattle on my BK9?
Traded for my brothers Brute sheath...:D

Seriously though, the dipping in hot water until soft then
fitting it to the blade is the way to go.
I've done it on a couple of knives because I carry left-handed.
Works good.

Just don't stick it in the microwave to speed things up. :(
That doesn't work too well.
