BK-7 rust PLEASE HELP

So I stripped the coating of my bk-7 about 3 weeks ago. I pulled it out of the sheath last night and BOOM! What looks like rust :(. It was very dark but i dont know what else it could be. It came off after a light sanding.

Please Help! I live in the Southern Arizona Desert, there is no humidity. The air is very dry. I thought 1095 CV was supposed to be MORE rust resistant than 1095 carbon. I have plenty of Moras and they haven't rusted. I usually clean my blades before putting them away but i forgot to oil it. Is this why it rusted?
 
If you intend to leave the steel bare, as in no patina to slow corrosion, I would put a light coat of oil on her.
I'm wondering if maybe the stripper was not completely neutralized before you put it away?

Ya i used Jascos but rinsed thoroughly i might have left a little water on the blade thank you
