Greetings Beckerheads! This afternoon I helped out a friend do some backyard cleaning on her property. Nothing too crazy other than mowing, weed wacking, trimming. The good thing about today is that I did get to use my Becker BK-9 on the following:
Thorny Vine that was growing all over the place on the fence line about 3/4 inch thick.
Holly brush/tree(?) trimming/chopping no thicker than 1/2 inch.
And Pine branches about 2 inches thick.
In my haste, I forgot to bring my camera; MAN ALIVE I Tell Ya!
The BK-9 cut cleanly on the Thorny Vine and on the Pine branches. Now the Holly is another story. Seems like when I try to chop at a 45 degree angle, it will not cut clean through. But another half of that angle it does. Don't know why. All were green. Anyways, no outlandish abusive chopping was done and I was aware of my surroundings in regards to rocks, nails (fence line). Now I'm really liking this Becker BK-9! It needs more workout!
When I got home to clean up, here's what I noticed on the edge.
The blade was not like that prior to me using it, and I know so. Just curious about this dinger, maybe from the Holly? Don't really know and not worried about it. I just want to know if I can simply hone/steel the edge back? That's all.
