Bk-9 Grip Bolts.

Well, I was using my bk-9 for some wood chopping the other day. Low and behold, one of the bolts holding the grip on disapeared. I had tightened them down a few times, but I guess making sure they were tight slipped my mind.

Does anybody know where I can get one? I'm happy with the knife otherwise. A new Bolt and some red locktight would probably make sure this would never happen again.

So, anyone know where I can get a new hex bolt and a nut? Should I just go to a hardware store?

Most hardware stores carry this type of bolt. Check your local ones such as Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, etc. They are usually in the hardware section in the "drawers" of bolts, nuts, washers, etc. Take one out of the handle and take it in with you to get one the same size and thread pitch/count.

Good luck!

yup, they're pretty standard items. for bonus points, you can buy a bag of bolts and nuts in stainless :)

use blue or red loctite as appropriate... no more worries about loss.

Hey Is1,

Call KA-BAR and we'll send you out a set of screws and nuts. 1-(800) 282-0130
Or you can visit the local hardware store and get a black oxided #10-32x5/8"L Sockethd Capscrew and corresponding nut.

i was just almost looking this up last nite :)

this of course shall go in the FAQ :> though it would be ideal to have the lengths for all the models, should they vary across model, and maker (historical)...

Is this consistent with all of the Ka-Bar BK knives?

Jay,

Yes. Any of the existing BK series knives will use that Capscrew spec.

Thanks for putting that up. I put Locktite on mine, but a stainless set sounds sexy!
