So, my stripped BK-9 came hott off the stripper just now and went under a secret formula of patina-ing agents... Tomorrow, pictures. She must bake overnight, you see.

I'll keep in touch.

EDIT: Just checked it again. I have one more step, but it'll take a few hours. Then pictures, I promise.

EDIT2: Pics!

Now I just need to sharpen and convex the edge... I may do something with the grips, I dunno yet. I kinda like the stock handles.

yeah. I might could splurge on a real camera. These are crappy phone pics. Ima sharpen it here in a bit and convex it. Then cut down some menacing trees and check the edge. I'm sure there'll be pics of it at some point.

That looks sweet! I don't suppose you want to share your "secret formula" with us do you?:)

Sliced grapefruit and a bit of vinegar, I put the extra liquid on the blade. Put the grapefruit down, arrange it, knife on that, then another layer (for the other side of the blade) on top of that. Put something heavy on it, come back in 8 hours. Then re-arrange it to hit places you might have missed or want darker (I missed a spot, and had to get the tip again as well as put another piece where I wanted to change the patern a bit) and wait another 8 hours. Remove, rinse, oil. I'm pretty happy with it, first actual mod to a knife :)

The Captain's right, just add light.
Your phone will probably take a decent picture if it's got enough photons to snuggle.

And my first casualty shortly after that... I was working on convexing and sanded my finger pretty good. That fine grit eats you up and you don't even know till the paper starts to turn pink.
