I recently received a BK9 in a trade, and while I've been playing with it, just hacking some low lying branches and getting the blade "juiced" up with sap, I've noticed that the sheath has some great ideas. I really like the front pocket, presumably for a folder or a sharpening stone, and the two back loops. I really wish that other knife companies would offer sheaths like this for their large knives.

I concur. I'm taking my new BK9 out for its first serious excursion this weekend, and I expect great things. The sheath incorporates some very nice features, although there are a couple of things I'd like to see added.

For example, it would be nice if the exterior pocket were a little larger, so that it would fit a decent-sized sharpening stone. It would also be great to see a loop on the back of the sheath nearer to the bottom, where you could attach a lower leg strap to keep it from flapping around when you're walking in the bush. Come to think of it, that would be a pretty easy modification to make on my own ...

Cheers,

Mike

If you like that one, you're gonna like the sheath for the CQB3 that's on it's way to you... it's the same sheath, just scaled down. :)
