I've got a BK-9, stock all the way, including the sheath. I've decided I like everything just fine the way it is, and I'm not modding it or the sheath.

Because everyone like pics, here it is:

I was wondering about the sheath because I read a few threads about glass-filled sheaths dulling some of the Becker knives. I haven't had any problems with my BK-9 sheath, and I presume it's not an issue, right?

Why would you make a thread called "BK-9 sheath" and not show a sheath?

I suppose my question didn't really require any picture to be asked and answered and, again, aren't they all the same?

It looks like this one:

It's obvious he has vampire problems, it must have slipped his mind.

From the pic I posted I could see how you would make that assumption, but that is neither a cross or a set of sharpened stakes for dispatching vampires. It's an Apache throwing star, and as you can see from this video, it would probably do a very good job taking care of anyone's vampire issues.

You are correct beanbag, all the KA-BAR made BK9 sheaths are the same and you don't have to worry about it dulling your 9 either.
The dulling issue was for the BK2 and 11 and the type of sheaths that they come with.
The BK 9 and 7 sheaths are different from those and don't have that problem.
Nice pic by the way :)

Thanks, I just wanted to confirm that. With no sheath issues, I hereby proclaim the BK-9 to be the best big blade value on the market. Actually I think it outperforms a lot of big blades that cost much more.

Now I can get back to concentrating on my vampire issues.

lol! it took 10 posts and 2 hours 19 minutes to answer your question.

These men adhere strictly to "pics or it didn't happen". You have been warned!:D

The 9 really is a heck of a value for a big ol' woods knife isn't it..

good job on the possum tickler...nice penetration.
