Upon seeing the pics and calculating the cost, you ask yourself, "is he crazy?" I don't think so. Nuh-uh. What I ended up with is what I refer to as the "ultimate Becker". The micarta slabs are from Kabar & the sheath is from Martin Swinkels. You can see a much better pic of the sheath on his website at http://martinsheaths.blogspot.com/ - the pic is about half way down the page. The slabs solved an issue for me where it just felt a bit slick at times. The sheath removed a major concern of mine related to the rattling and overall looseness of the sheath. It now feels totally comfortable & no worries about rattling or looseness.

All that and a camo kydex core!

sweet. looks very well made. i wish i had known you sent your bk9 to a sheath maker. i might have ordered a kydex sheath for mine as well without the hassle of sending my bk9 over.

Yep. That's a sweet rig! I've got a little "sheath envy" goin on... The micarta is nice too...I've got them on my BK2, and have another pair on order for my 7 (which should be here tomorrow)!

I love the look of ivory micarta on a black blade! Its a shame the handles cost more in postage to get to Australia then the cost of the handle:(

Thanks for all the nice comments. I found that I liked the knife so much I just had to do it regardless of cost. At the end of the day I started with a great tool and ended up making it even greater - at least from my perspective.

I'm going to have to contact Martin, for sure ! My old BK9 sheath definately needs a replacement,a quality one at that !

Ive emailed that dude a few times. does VERY nice work.

downside is sending the knife off

His pricing is reasonable, considering its half way across the world
