Ok Folks,
Here is a pic of the new BK&T DESERT SERIES BK7-1!

NICE! Are scales available separately? What type of finish is applied to the blade?

BTW are the black scales available for purchase? I would like to get a spare set to experiment on some grip textures.

Yojimbo,
The blade finish is the same as the regular BK&T's, just desert tan in color. The scales are the same, but with a desert camo applied[like on the Ol' Glory knives].

Regular BK&T scales are avialible from us...call the customer service numbe...800-344-0456. They are $5 a pair+S&H.

The desert series looks good!
I hate to be a pain in the butt, but it would be interesting to see the light-colored blade with the black handles in a black sheath.
Will & Co.-Keep up the great work.

Would it be possible to get a Bk-7's sheath to fit an Tek-Lok? Just wondering; I'm hopig to is so that I can mount the Bk-7 on my belt either horizontalyl or at an angle. It's no too big a deal, as if it isn't possible, I will just get a sheath from www.survivalsheath.com .

Will,

the blade will be tan? Pretty cool, however the satin finished blade in your picture looks even better.

Will we have to strip and sand our own BKs to get this effect, or is it an option that you are considering?

TIA

brooksknives,
I don't think 800 numbers work outside the U.S.
Try the regular number (315)672-8111 ext.227
Hope this works for you.

Goede,
Must be something wrong with our pic...the blade in the pic I posted is coated with desert tan epoxy powder coat. That is the way the BK&T DESERT SERIES knives will be shipped.

Sorry if it looks like a satinfinished blade....upon closer inspection of the pic on my monitor, and the actual knife in my hand, it does look somewhat "lighter shade of tan" on the pic. It is definately a desert tan in real life.

Thanks for the interest!

Will,

I believe ya bud. On second look, the finish appears on my monitor to be a very very light grey. Pretty either way.

Going to make it to the Eugene show in April? If you do, please bring some of the new lineups for us to see. It will be nice to see you also:)

Will,

Is the company sending any of these over to the troops? It would do them a hell of a lot more good than us run of the mill collector Types.

Regards,

Tom Carey

Tom,
There are alot of BK&T's, especially C/U-7's, in a very sandy environment right now! We haven't started shipping these DESERT SERIES yet, but its close, and customers that supply the military, like BRIGADE QUARTERMASTERS who not only sells direct to GI's, but supplies the PX system and individual units, have large orders in place.

Ethan's whole idea behind the C/U-7 is an improved combat knife for the American soldier and marine that wouldn't cause him[or her] to miss a car payment to purchase it.......the idea seems to be working out well.

Will,

Ethan is rite on track. As most people know are troops don't have as much money to spend on knives as most of us on the forums. Because of this they often end up buying sub standard knives that will fail when they need them most. I applaud Camilus and Ethan's efforts to correct this situation.

Regards,

Tom Carey

Ethan is right on the money in giving the troops and affordable and quality combat knife. This man deserves many kudos!

This new desert tan is beautiful! Now I'm going to have to get one, just because...well, I'll think of something.

Great job!
