Folks,
I know we have some serious BK&T fans here on BF, and like allof ya'll, I was upset to have to discountinue the BK5 Jerry Fisk Designed Magnum Camp Knife. Well, we found 23 blades that had been set aside due to light tang stamps that partially filled in with the powder coating. We have put these for sale on our website....

....in the "Closeout" section for $59.95. First come, first serve, and remember, there are only 23 out there!

These knives are cosmetic "blems"....nothing that will impair the functionality and performance of the blade whatsoever!

Does the Bk5 chop as well or better than the Bk7? Where is the balance point approximately? I think I want one if it doubles as a fair chopper. Weight? And the sheath looks good, is it? Tight fit? Answer these questions correctly and I will gladly encur the wrath of the wife one last time!:D

Not a better chopper than the BK7. Not a better knife than the BK7, but very few knives are - at any price.

But this is still a great knife - don't miss it.

I think it's meant for regular camp jobs that doesn't call for chopping.
I recall some use it as a kitchen knife.
I've seen the knife first hand, and although it was a display knife that got pretty banged up, I think it makes a good slicer type work. It's thinner than the regular BK&T, I think.

It's not a prybar or chopper. It's a long wide flat ground slicer/slasher. Think more along the lines of the Fisk OVB bowies.

It's butter dull, poorly designed, off balance, butt ugly, cheap, brittle, useless, and an utterly worthless knife in every way...really it is....

Now where the hell did my wife put that credit card??:D

I much prefer my Magnum Camp over the BK7 in terms of outdoor useage and in the kitchen! The Magnum Camp is just an all round outdoors knife... sure its no "tactical" (but I wish it had a BK7 style sheath!).

I actually find that it chops better than my BK7 - and you get a nice big choil for close up work.

I can't say enough good things about the Magnum Camp... I think the upswept bowie style looks just don't sell, but once you have it and use it, you will fall in love :) assuming you want a high performance cutting tool and not a hunk of steel like a CS Trailmaster!

The Magnum Camp is my favorite BK&T knife. I’m sorry to hear it’s discontinued. :(

Scarface,
I'd say worst-case scenerio would be the stamp is completely covered. To a lesser degree, only a part of the stamp is filled in. Weighing the disadvantage of not being able to read the stamp versus the exceptional value, I'd say go for it!

I got one of these, and all I can say is Camillus must have some very high QA standards. It looks like a "first" to me. Of course YMMV.
Whatta deal! If you want one I'd say act quick.

I just got mine. Nicer grinds and a keener and sharper edge than the first one I used to own. Nothing! wrong with this beauty.
I had the scales blasted this afternoon and it's good to go.
Maybe I got lucky but this is one sweeeet mofo.

I just ordered one of these. It will be my first Becker Knife and I sure hope that I am not disappointed. I have heard so many good things about Becker that I just had to try one. Great price.
