BK&T micarta grips question

Hi. Do any of you fellas know if Ka-bar will furnish the Becker line with micarta grips as regular sale models? I know the grips are available separately, but will they offer them already installed ?

Hey Pete......

Congrats on your choice of a BK 9.......If this is your first Becker I suggest you give the standard handle scales a good workout before spending extra on the Micarta slabs.....I use them pretty much interchangably and as rough as I tend to be on stuff I have never busted a pair of the Grivory handles....I like the look of the Micarta and they offer THEORETICAL advantages but, from a practical stand point, I think I would put that money toward a Necker instead.......

And to answer your question.....The Micarta scales are on option only option.....

Thanks Ethan. I am looking forward to getting a great knife. I already own the Necker, and am very happy with it. I've been looking at big knives lately, and the BK-9 will fit the bill perfectly.

[Vicarious Reality]

So... i noticed a serious issue on my recently purchased BK2 ...

It is very close to being too thick to put the Micarta handles on it! The bolts only engage about half the nut and i stripped one bolt already when i tried to assemble it for the first time.
I guess i'll have to go find some slightly longer bolts if i'm ever going to be 100% comfortable with it.
