If the BK2 was done with a 10" blade it would make a great modern variation of this old pattern. Some of the BK5 cutting ability, coupled with chopping capability. I know you already have big choppers like the BK1 and BK4, but I still think this could do well. I own the 1 and 4, great pieces, but I think a new model like I described would be easier to sharpen in the field.
I recently read an article on the old Rio Grande pattern and it got me thinking about a modern version. Just a thought!
Would begging help?

I think that a Rio Grande Camp Knife would fit better into the new OVB line than the Becker line. I like big spear point bowies.

A new incarnation of the Rio Grande Camp Knife would be a great addition to the Camillus line-up; particularly if they follow JOCKO’s suggestion and make it part of the “OVB” series. A design like that would be best served by a traditional treatment, IMO.

OK,OK, I admit it! This was just another weak attempt at promoting a Campanion with a 10" blade. I still think this knife would fill a niche. The OVB idea sounds good also, but something like this in the BK&T line would be easier on wallet. Changing it to a spear point could work also.
I will admit, I'd buy a OVB version if it were done. I missed out on the BJ version years ago, still regret it. The article I read was a review of the Dixie Gunworks model, I may have to check it out. Rio Grandes aside, I'm still pushing for the larger Campanion.
