hi guys quick question for u guys,i just got into beckers and i know a couple things about the more recent becker kabar associated line, but im really liking the bk1 brute and i went into my local gunshop last week and saw one there for sale, i would like to know whats a good price and of im overpaying and what value it has. .i think its somewere around $170. .i have no idea if thats good or bad becouse like i said have no knowledge of beckers from before but it is in very good condition. thanks in advanced guys.

Thats a good price IMO. Being that its a "gun shop" you can haggle a bit to.
The knife is worth what you are willing to pay for it. If your looking to make some money at that price, you would have a hard time I think. At least enough money to make it worth your time, I don't think its gonna happen.
BUT, if its for your own use...I would pay that much if I was in yous shoes, and wanted the BK1. Its a good knife.

I would probably pay that for a BK1. I like the look of that thing. Cheaper than a BK10... I'd go for it.

describe it. Black coating, gray coating or natural metal finish? Is it new in box? what color is the box? Camillus or Blackjack?

eh, I would wait if you can....it's pretty much been said that the bk1 and the bk6 are going to be re-released soon...might be worth it for the money savings...

That is a bit cheaper than most have been selling recently. In my opinion it depends on how bad you want it now. As greybush mentioned, there will most likely be Kabar production BK1 and 6's coming out in 8-12 months. They will be cheaper and have a warranty.

thanks for the response guys um I see you guys are saying the bk 1 will return um would this have any sort of value being it was from before kabar? and again thanks guys for the response does in life is actually a natural metal finish I think it says effingham on it I don't recall correctly

That would be a Blackjack Brute then, If thats the case and its in good condition than thats a pretty sweet price. If you want it for a user and can wait Yeah 12 months probably till a new release, but if your collecting, then thats a grail, and it will still have value even after the re release (If I am right and its Blackjack era)

if i were enterprising, i'd be calling all the gun shoppes in FLA right now ;)

but i'm not :>

me? i'd hold out for the new model. < $100 i should expect.

Well this is the first time I've seen any kind of pseudo confirmation on the return of the BK1... so that's cool. :)

I still want a BK10 though... I freaking LOVE my BK12.... and it's quite similar. I don't see why these haven't been brought back. Seems like they would sell like hot cakes... Maybe even do it special the way they did the 101's and give it a FDE finish with the factory micarta scales... OH MAN OH MAN!!

Bladite... make it happen! ;)

we had a special edition BK10. i helped spec it out and made it happen. go forth, find and buy one :)

don't know FDE finish. the special editions were basically stone tumbled. very nice.

thanks guys im really leaning towards to getting it i stoped by and they still had it its real nice just my inner conciouse fights thinking 170 on a knife but it looking like i just might get it so ill sleep on it. . .just one more question i hope it not bothering to much, its about the steel is there any gain in the the new 1095cv over that diffrent steel used in the blackjack becouse it will be a user, maybe one of u fellows have a becker of that era to compare to, i my self only have the kabar beckers in cv.thanks again

I don't have a 1, I can't tell you about the steels. However, I was wondering about the name. Do you have a 3rd gen Supra? Or was there some other reason to the name?

lol wow someones likes cars like me lol. yes i have 4 of them all have single turbo 1jz's except one with a built 7m

LOL! I used to have a 4th gen with a 2jz single turbo manifold with a dual stage set up that I raced. I have a buddy that used to have a 1st gen Celica Supra and another buddy had a 2nd gen.

I also had a 98 camaro with a LT1+procharger.

Yes I am wicked into cars. They are my first love. 2 years ago I managed to hit the LA, Chicago, Detroit, and New York auto shows all in the same year. I make my annual pilgrimage to Chicago every February for the auto show. Something about being at the oldest and largest auto show in north america the night before opening day for the charity dinner. It's just amazing.

thats awsome chameleonbear and mk4 weeeeffff thats $$$ im looking for one but on top of being rare there 20k+. .cars my first love also then came knives and outdoor gear lol very expensive hobbies. .and +1 on the proharger setup! instant torque wile keeping good high end

As far as the steel goes on that Brute, I didn't know either when i got my Effingham Brute, so I went over to the knife forums in the Bark river Subforum and asked Mike Stewart what steel they used, his response, "1095".
