I always liked the design of the Brute when I first saw them. I never got to purchase one and by the time I came back around to them they were not made anymore.

here are the specs from the sticky, thanks Bladite!

From the Camillus literature: '''Exclusive high carbon steel (0170-6C) flat ground blade, 58-59 RC blade hardness, black epoxy coating, Becker trademark GV6H ergonomic handles, Kydex multi-carry sheath system, Proudly made in the USA''' and '''15 inch overall length, 9.5 inch length blade, .250 inch thick blade'''

o Camillus era

oo Edge Angle: ? degrees

This one came with micarta handles and a red liner that looks awesome!!

The previous owner put on a convex edge and it not only looks great but is hair shaving sharp as well.

The knife is not really too blade heavy , probablly because of the micarta and liners.

The sheath is the factory sheath and is missing the leg straps but those can easily be made.

Here she is next to my BK2 for size

I read some reviews where some people did not care for the performance, but I will make up my own mind when I get to go out and chop some stuff up!:)

This is one of those knives that just make you smile when you pick it up. I imagine I will feel the same way when I get to hold a Machaxe for the first time.

So come on guys and gals who love the Brute, post up and be heard!!

Thanks for looking.

Very nice! The brute is my favorite becker. One day I shall land one....

Nice score those handles look awesome!

The Brute is tied neck and neck with the machax for me I love both of them. I agree though the convex edge gives a whole nother level to it. I read somewhere that it was not considered as good of a chopper as the 9. I will have to try that out at some point, I do like the Brute over the 9 feeling wise anyday.

slap a convex edge on all three of the big Beckers and have at it...

2 Down 1 to go. Figured I would wait til after the bleach bath on the 9 when i get time for that too.

With the factory geometry, "chopping" with a BK1 was pretty much akin to beating a piece of wood with a steel billet and eventually denting it to death, but some grinding can turn it into an effective chopper. As they came from Camillus, the BK9 would outcut it many times over. Once the BK1 got some help, however, its mass helps it shine. No doubt it has a higher "cool factor" and I like it just for the history behind it. The older Blackjack models had notably better factory geometries, though inferior steel.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Who hasn't wanted to beat something to death with a Brute????:D

Man I cant wait for these two to go into production. I think I am leaning just a little towards the machax. But both are must haves down the line.

Skystorm, those are freaking gorgeous! Great job! Hopefully, I wlil have a Machax very soon. I'm tempted to make it look just like yours!
