Well I have a friend whos curently stationed in FT. Hood and He's getting deployed to iraq in August. I told him if he gets deployed i would give him a knife. His job is in transport in the humvee with the saw. My question is Will the BK 10 Make a good knife for him over there? i read about it being made fer taker crews so i think it will be good. I bought it used it twice and Never used it again. I know he will use it but will it be a good knife? Thanks Fer info
Phil

It's a good knife - good steel, decent ergos, short stout and tough. I wouldn't be embarrased to give it to him, and it will take good care of him.

In case you can't tell, I really like mine - it's certified bulletproof. ;)

The Crewman is a great knife. I love mine. If you want to really take care of your buddy, pick up a Sentry Solutions tuff cloth silicone cloth and a lansky dog bone sharpener and put them in the sheath pouch. Thats a great combo.

Hey Guys..

Big Philly1...

If you give your buddy the Crewman, I will also throw in a sheath for the Crewman to give him...

Let me know what you do with it..I can be reached here

Now that's Class, fellas.

Just singing with the chorus here...

The BK 10 is a helluva knife to give IMHO. My wife has beaten hers like mad and it still comes back for more. She seems to consider it appropriate attire for everything from playing in the flower bed to backpacking. In the tradition of non-knife nuts, she just plain uses it with no respect for lateral blade stress, edge retention, etc. That means she digs with it, pries with it, chips ice with it, whittles fuzz sticks, hacks limbs and trees for campfires, etc. It has been a champ. I sometimes debate the wisdom of hanging onto my BK 5 so doggedly when she has so much success with that thing.

Also, I've worked with some military guys that were heading out to Iraq, and about three of them were telling me that they could carry a fixed blade, but only if it had a blade that measured five inches or less.:rolleyes Considering those regulations that seem to pop up now and then for whatever reason, the BK 10 is an especially good choice. One helluva friend to give your buddy a knife like that, and an even further display of class by Normark.

I love my BK10 like everyone else here... It acts like a bigger blade, and doesn't break a sweat no matter what I throw at it...

Hey Guys....

Thanks very much..Appreciated..

My pleasure for sure...

Just got the sheath done..Here's a few pics....

The attachments you see on the reverse of the sheath are MOLLE loops..
A Webbing strap is laced through them, which fastens the sheath to a MOLLE LBV or other MOLLE Gear..

Although not a perfect set up,, it works pretty darn good..

The belt loop and MOLLE loops are interchangable

Thanks Phil for getting the sheath to it's new owner..
