Finally got my hands on a BK10 (actually two :)) and wanted to take it out and see how well it did with batoning. I found an old wooden plank probably left over from the deck and went to town. There was a big knot in the wood and I wanted to see how well the BK10 would fair. Upon splitting through it with ease I discovered a bit of fatwood.

Here you can sort of see the variation of color in the wood

All in all I give it a 9.0 out of 10.0. Only because with the BK2 I didn't even have to baton all the way down. The .25 inch blade just pops pieces apart. In my opinion the BK10 is a better slicer because of the blades thinner profile but BK2 is much better at batoning and just feels a bit more sturdier. Still love these knives though. :) :) I'm one happy camper :D

Congrats on the BK10 score and nice thread/pics. I was looking at getting one of these blades myself until I seen the Ritter/Becker collaboration...

reminds me of the commercial, how many licks...err...batoning...to get to the center of the lollipop...err fatwood :D

Where's the bonfire finale pic? :D
Love the Crewman pron.

I like the bk10. I hope someday kabar could make it. Fantastic pics and great choper. The bk 10 it´s like (for me) a bk 9with bk2 size.
