hi
iv Just got my second becker knife the bk 10 crewman ( the other a becker necker bk11). Its great except for the grind on the blade near the tip,it is at two diffrent angles. it looks like it tilts to the side tho still cuts well from both angles. is this normal or should i send it back for another.

thanks edd

ps are these knifes hand sharpend?

Edd-UK,
Welcome to Bladeforums and the Camillus Forum! I think I understand your question. It sounds as if the blade was given a second stroke near the point. These are, indeed, hand sharpened. If you are happy with the edge, I would say keep it. Otherwise, if you want to return it, we can resharpen it. Thanks for being a customer!

well it seems to do its job well and i can resharpen it. do you think that it will cause rapid ware with the uneven edge and would a lansky system or simular be ok for the resharpning. what angle are the bk knifes sharpend at??

thanks Edd

the stamping on the blade is missing letters. is this a normal ocurence as well.

i phoned the company where i ordered the knife and explaned the problem. to which they have agreed to replace it and pay for all post and packaging. well done Hennie haynes great service!! :D
it may be a bit over the top on my half for a hard working knife but i love pefection or as close as possible. thats why i chose the becker range in the first place, the bk11 i have is amazing i could not leave it in the shop it was just perfect.
is it just me or are these some of the finest knifes there are?
i will keep u posted on the new one when it arives.
Edd :)

The missing letters is most likely from when the powder paint finish was applied and filled in with the paint. Not necessarily a bad stamp. This happens sometimes and is almost impossible to control.

To answer your question regarding them being the best knives - OF COURSE!!!! :D :D

You missed the boat. I usually use something like this as an excuse to have a beater (and enjoy it) then buy another for a safe queen....

These Beckers are just awesome. Try the Companion sometime.

i did look at the companion but i favor the shape of the crewman. thinking about the bk9 next or the brute.
thanks for the info on the stamping Rick i will take this into acount. to be honest the knife realy wasnt shaving sharp out the box due to the way it had been ground so it wasent up to the famous bk&t standard. i want to be the one who destroys the knife out of use not half way there when i get it.
so when are Bk&t going to make a mini fixed blade with handle and sheath like the crewman or Companion about 3 to 4 inch in blade length.
Edd

and i have the bk11 neck knife ( what a little knife) but i 3.6 to 4.0 inch blade would be great for hunting over here. we are not alowed to carry a fixed knife unless for a perpose like hunting then it still cant be over 4inches. but at our home any thing goes so bring on the big boys.

well iv got the new one
And oh how perfect it is every thing is just right and v sharp.( except the sheath's kydex insert, but i took it out turned it around and reglued it. its good now)
thanks mr Becker this is one hell of a knife so powerfull.
so how can i keep this knife in tip top condition. Any tips on care and resharpening.

Edd
