I was bidding on a BK10 on ebay down to the last minute, but I think I talk myself out of it. I look at the picture one last time and I SWEAR there is a CHIP in the blade lmk what think. I would have bid more If it wasnt for the "chip". Who knows when I'll find another one I had to chances this week and neither went through! The hunt for my BECKER GRAIL continues.....

Looks to me like a tiny piece of the sheath is on top of the edge of the blade and not a chip.

please don't post links :)

also write the seller and ask for a better picture. or take a chance :)

PLease explain to me the major differences between the BK10 and BK2. I ask becuase I honestly don't know. The seem to look simiilar and be about the same size.

Good luck looking. Or you can hold out long enough for Ka-Bar to reproduce it. When? Who knows. But I waited patiently enough and now I have 3 BK10s. One of my favorite Becker knives. A little sharper for slicing not as good of a chopper as the BK2 but thats what the BK9 is for :)

wow the esee forum is really better than BF. A closed auction on ebay pisses people off W/E I thought chatting with people that use the same knives as me would be cool but to freak out about that come on.

Easy on the attitude, please. I don't think anybody is freaking out.
There are rules at BFC against deal spotting, and your thread title looks more like an advertisement than anything else.
Granted, the auction was ended, but the auction was irrelevant in the first place.
If you had a legitimate question about the edge, you should have just posted the pic and asked, "Hey, do you think this is a chip?"
If you're trying to locate a BK10 for sale, you might try posting in the Wanted to Buy forum here at Bladeforums.
Or you could just take your request to the ESEE forum. Your choice.

I asked the question and the seller answered the question and posted it on the auction

it was not chipped

anyway i paid 125 for a mint unused bk10 and that one went for the same amount and it WELL used

Yeah man those BK10's are cool. Their not that hard to find. keep looking and they'll pop up from time to time. Found my first one here on the exchange, $120 shipped. That was new in box too.

As far as the BK-10, it is a nice knife.
In that 5" to 6" range, I prefer the thinner stock, and so I really like my Camillus Crewman and my Rowen-made Ritter/Becker Perseverance.
I'll try to get some BK2 & BK10 & Perseverance comparison pics up. There was a question about the differences over in another thread.

If i'm not mistaken there are some in the database, but more pics would be nice.

Yeah, there's this oldie but goodie. I don't remember the originator.
I don't think Bladite had a BK12 prototype, but I could be wrong.
I was going to try and take a few that show relative spine thickness.

given the cost of the Perseverance, vs that of random BK10s esp if they are not new... you either want a good working knife now, or you are collecting (and then the cost is ... a different thing ;)

the BK10 is nice, and slicey, and if you can get one at a good price, go for it... otherwise, there are other choices.

and if you HAVE to have a BK10, buy a BK7 and cut it down :) a couple peoples have done such mods iirc.

i've been pondering doing this to a BK77 :) maybe...

Here are a few pics. I'll stick 'em in the pic thread too.
